Antoinette is the C.E.O of DK, she was born in Kingston Jamaica. How Antoinette came up with the name DOLLY KOLLECTION & the meaning behind it is quite interesting. The back story to the word "DOLLY" has a lot to do with her cultural, social environment & upbringing influenced by her country.

DOLLY which has/means several different terms where she's from, other than the traditional ones we are used to & associated with growing up as children playing with toy dolls. The other translations of the meaning of a Dolly is; A very fashionable girl, often complimented by looking attractive & radiant. Dolly can also be used as slang for a familiar term to address your romantic partner.

Being a Dolly became a lifestyle, a way of living & carrying yourself!

If You Look like a Dolly! Dress like a Dolly! (which essentially became her business slogan). Simply put; you dressed nicely, & put yourself together. Dollies display confidence, uplift others & give out compliments to other Dollies.
